The underside uses a grippy rubber to help prevent sliding around on the table surface, the borders of the mat use stitching to prevent fraying and damage from long-term use, and the surface is a smooth-tracking microfiber cloth. The design was made completely in-house and the wireframe artwork has even been featured in several of our videos. We made new molds for the rods, which are all 100mm length for a good mix of balance, torque, and grip.

Our wrist straps and common ground points have resistors in-line to even further minimize risk of damaging sensitive components, like MOSFETs, when working on PC parts. The GamersNexus ‘Amp’ Medium Modmat offers a ground-up design from our team, featuring our customized and uniquely developed anti-static conductive surface to minimize risk of electrostatic discharge into components. The Medium Modmat is a portable, versatile alternative to our Large Modmat series; the Medium mats can easily be rolled and packed into a bag, brought for on-site service or repair, or just rolled-out as a permanent work surface in a smaller space. The ‘Amp’ Medium Modmat is 32” x 16” (~81x41cm) and uses our rubberized anti-static material to protect both the table surface from PC building and to protect the components. To reduce the chance of dropping screws into a re-assembled component, the GN toolkit comes with the metal tips pre-magnetized on 8 of the 10 tools. The other two are hex drivers, which we’ve specifically left unmagnetized so that screws don’t get stuck inside of the hex head.
This helps to divert electrostatic discharge away from components, and the included wrist strap can be used with the alligator clip or the banana plug (which inserts into the ground point). We designed these with resistors to slow the discharge to best protect components.
